They feature SLI graphics, insane speeds, and of course, the newly minted Ageia M100 laptop Physx processor. These machines promise to strip the fillings out of your head with their incredible processing power, but don't expect battery life to be a selling feature: even though the Ageia chip sucks a miserly 10 watts the rest of the rig will drain your batteries faster than you can say 'lithium ion'.

While Dell has the exclusive over the next while several other vendors are sure to enter the fray depending on demand of the Dell unit. This definitely falls under the category of 'laptop envy', but this one is sure to please.

Warmonger, Operation: Downtown Destruction will be slightly delayed to accommodate a series of adjustments and infrastructure improvements. Although there is no set date at this time, we do expect the game will be ready to ship in time for the holidays. We apologize for any inconveniences and will send notification as soon as possible once a new date is determined. The NetDevil/Warmonger Team.

This mission will take full advantage of the lastest tech for the PPU including a new force-field wind system which is used to blow the leaves around and really adds to the level of detail. Other features of note are rumored to include a full destruction system which will allow every fence, tree, building and gun nest to be systematically destroyed.

Looks really nice so far.

Michael Brown of Maximum PC has an interesting write up of GRAW 2. Apparently Michael has been a fairly vocal critic of Ageia but the implementation seems to have turned his head. Here is a snip or two:

"Ageia tells me all the physics in the game were created using its PhysX SDK, but only one level (dubbed Ageia Island, appropriately enough) requires a PhysX card—you can't unlock the level without it. Could this be just a marketing ploy? I guess it's possible, but I’ve never seen such detailed physics in a game."

"The guard tower is even more remarkable. You can act with stealth and take out the enemy soldier with a sniper rifle, or you can launch an RPG, blow the entire structure apart, and watch him tumble down to his death. The first time you try this, you’ll undoubtedly get blown away yourself because you’re too busy watching the destruction unfold before you."

Looks like (as I mentioned in my previous post about GRAW2) this might be the real deal as far as engaging gameplay influenced by physics.
